Katherine Anne Porter (1890-1980) was an American writer who wrote over twenty-five short stories, three novellas, one full-length novel, a collection of poetry, and numerous non-fiction essays and articles. As a successful female writer at a time when few women worked outside the home--let alone won Pulitzer prizes--Porter is an inspiration to all aspiring writers.
