Katherine Anne Porter...
...her life, her work, her legacy.

"I shall try to tell the truth, but the result will be fiction."
--Katherine Anne Porter

Katherine Anne Porter (1890-1980) was an American writer who wrote over twenty-five short stories, three novellas, one full-length novel, a collection of poetry, and numerous non-fiction essays and articles.  As a successful female writer at a time when few women worked outside the home--let alone won Pulitzer prizes--Porter is an inspiration to all aspiring writers.  Whether you are reading Porter's work for pleasure, researching her life for school, or looking for a forum to discuss her writings, we hope this website will provide you with all the tools and information you need to get started on your literary quest.
